District Information

Welcome to the Canton Public Schools. Below you will find resources and information for parents and families.

District Information

Registration and Annual Forms

Each year, families must complete the annual registration forms through PowerSchool. If you are registering your student for the first time, please visit the New Student Registration page for further registration information.

To complete your annual registration forms, access your PowerSchool Parent Portal account. There, you will find information about your students, their classes, and their registration forms. If you have any questions about completing your annual forms, please contact the office of your student’s school.

Communications

You can expect to receive weekly newsletters from the school that your student(s) attend. Newsletters will come to the email on file in your PowerSchool Parent Portal. The district also sends a newsletter called the Canton Schools Community Connection.

For weather related school closings, delays, and early releases, the district utilizes the SchoolMessenger text notification system. Once you have completed the annual registration forms through Powerschool, you may opt-in to receive these text notifications. More information on SchoolMessenger text notifications is available on our Communications page. The district will also notify families via email, social media, and local news stations.

School Calendar

The formal, full year school calendar is approved annually by the Board of Education and is available on the school calendar page. A school calendar is also available digitally as a Google Calendar, which each school uses to post events, field trips, and other information.

School Rules and Policies

Each school maintains a Student/Parent/Guardian Handbook which outlines the rules of the school. Additionally, the Board of Education maintains district level policies.

Addressing Concerns
The Canton Public Schools strive to address all concerns that families may have about their child’s experience in the district.

In order to best address any concerns, use the following as a guide for contacting school staff.

Curriculum and Instruction

Like our programs, our curriculum site contains the ever growing resources which represent the teaching and learning process here in Canton.  You will find our Vision of the Graduate, grade level overviews for our elementary programs, and course level overviews for our middle and high school programs.
