District Jazz Concert

Percussionist Michael Blancaflor is an active performer, educator, and clinician in southern New England and the tri-state areas. Originally from Berlin, CT, he received a Bachelor of Science in Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Connecticut at Storrs. His percussion teachers include Rich Baccaro, Peter Tanner, Thom Hannum, Bill Reynolds, Peter Coutsouridis, Mike Clark, Rosemary Small, and Alexander Lepak.

An active performer, Michael has played with the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps, Hartford Symphony Orchestra, New Haven Symphony Orchestra, Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, The Chelsea Symphony, Greenwich Village Orchestra, Astoria Symphony, and New Bedford Symphony, among other ensembles throughout New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. His Off-Broadway drum/percussion credits include "Found" (2014 Atlantic Theater Company) and "Once Upon a Mattress" (2015 Transport Group).

Based on the famous family’s various media appearances, the play was adapted for the stage by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and orchestrations by Larry Hochman.

Licensing has been provided by Theatrical Rights Worldwide. Approximate run time: 120 minutes with 15-minute intermission.

CANTON, Connecticut - On Thursday, March 14th, at 7:00pm, The Addams Family: School Edition will premiere in the CHS Auditorium (76 Simonds Ave). Additional shows to follow on Friday, March 15th at 7:00pm, and Saturday, March 16th at 2:00pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $5 for students.

The Canton High School Drama Club is only in its FOURTH year of existence! After returning post-pandemic, we have had such productions as Clue, Alice in Wonderland, Seussical, and The Play that Goes Wrong. All proceeds from ticket sales, concession sales, and merchandise sales will directly support the production costs of The Addams Family as well as future productions and Drama Club events.

CHS Musical Theatre presents The Addams Family School Edition, March 14, 15 at 7pm and March 16 at 2pm.
