Peggy Steinway is a native of Chicago, Illinois. A graduate of; Southern Illinois University/Carbondale (BA), New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (MFA), Alfred, NY and The Alternate Route to Certification/CT 1996.
Since moving to Canton in 1985 she has taught art at: Tunxis Community College, University of Hartford Art School, Northwest Community College, Conard High School and The Gilbert School. She has taught all age levels and believes that art and learning is a lifelong endeavor that brings joy, accomplishment and fullness of spirit to both the student and teacher.
Both daughters are currently high school teachers and graduates of the Canton Schools. One granddaughter is a Canton school pupil with two more grandchildren waiting in the wings. Living in Canton has been a wonderful experience and giving back to the community through the BOE has been a privilege. Peggy is a member of the Canton Gallery on the Green and an avid pickleball player.
